  • Duke of Edinburgh Expedition training details released

    The program for preparing for the District D of E expedition is below. We have planned things so it does not impact too much on exams and revision.  The time scale is just a guide that we feel the young people should be able to achieve but this depends on them and how they work together as a team. All meetings will take place at New Barn Scout HQ from 7:30pm to 9pm on a Wednesday. The time may be extended if the teams are struggling to do the work in the time allocated. Those of you who did not attend the Shakedown camp will need to do extra to cover this part of the training, this will be done either at your unit nights by your leaders or we may need to add extra dates onto the end of our plan. At the camp we covered: - First Aid, wounds, Compass bearings and distances, Map reading, Camp craft, summary route card, Menu planning, ruck sack packing.
